The Role & Responsibilities
1. Programme Details
The Analyst Development Programme is designed for young professionals looking to pursue a career in
financial services, whilst studying towards a Level 6 Financial Services standard and gaining a
Chartered Banking Institute (CBI) qualification.
The programme is [18/21] months in length, and you will spend the time rotating into different areas of
our Structured Lending business, with ample time per week allocated to study.
Rotations will include working different sector specialist teams within the Commercial Banking division,
including our secured/collateralised products (development finance, asset based lending, wholesale
finance) and unsecured/uncollateralised products (cashflow and acquisition finance).
2. Business Origination
To assist with the origination of new to bank business in Structured Lending, including attending market events
and conferences, and building relationships with introducers and new to bank prospects.
To assist in the execution of new business facilities to UK Small and Mid sized Enterprises (“SMEs”), in
contribution towards the Structured Lending financial objectives. This will include attendance of due diligence
days and preparation of credit papers which will include modelling as well as analysing and understanding the
risks of new facilities – ranging from credit risk to market and regulatory risk. Assist in the legal documentation
and execution process.
3. Customer relationship management and Portfolio Management
To assist with the transfer of new to bank relationships to the Portfolio Management team, who will manage the
customer in life. Support the development of Management Information/ monitoring tools.
4. People / development
Maintain and develop strong internal stakeholder network/relationships, e.g. Operations, Credit, Risk.
Build strong relationships with other team members.
5. Risk management/compliance
Develop high standards in assessing and mitigating risks as well as deal structuring, documentation and
execution.
Compliance with the Bank’s Risk Management Framework, including all policies and procedures. To include completion of mandatory training.
Maintain strong relationships with internal risk stakeholders.
Report all issues of regulatory concern through the appropriate channels. Communicate and escalate potential issues/risks in a prompt and ef
The Person
- Degree level qualification in a relevant field or 2+ years work experience in the banking sector, preferably appropriate to the role
