The Role & Responsibilities
This is a technical role within the Decision Science team, which is expanding to manage the oversight of End User Computing (EUC) controls. This role will initially be the lead responsible for an overhaul of the bank’s approach to policy, identification, and management of them, to align closely with the standards in place for the Model Inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- EUC Governance & Risk Oversight: Own and enforce the EUC governance framework, policies, standards, and inventory, ensuring clear ownership, risk-based control, regulatory compliance, and effective oversight of EUCs supporting critical business processes.
- Control, Integrity & Resilience: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, availability, and recoverability of EUCs through effective input/output controls, testing and validation, performance monitoring, backup, and operational resilience arrangements.
- Lifecycle Management & Rationalisation: Oversee the full EUC lifecycle, including development standards, change management, documentation, user guidance, controlled decommissioning, and the identification of opportunities to migrate or remediate high-risk EUCs.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Assurance: Act as the primary point of accountability for EUC risk, providing management information, assurance, and expert support to senior management, Risk, Compliance, and Audit, and promoting strong EUC risk awareness across the Bank.
This role will lead the wider regulatory commitments required of the team and ensure we can continue to grow and produce strong analytical governance, it will also support the Model Validation function where possible, ensuring that the overall team deliverables and objectives are met, whilst allowing for internal skill development into new analytic areas.

- Creative – Consider the evolving regulatory landscape in our decisions around Operational Risk, Validation, Capital and Impairment to create bespoke solutions that benefit the bank.
The Person
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience of governance and analytics in financial services or equivalent
- Understanding of the regulatory environment affecting financial service companies
- A broad understanding of quantitative methods, governance and oversight
- Substantial experience in credit risk and capital adequacy
Technical
- Advanced modelling and analytics skills
- Strong SAS skills
- Strong Microsoft skills in Excel, Word and Power point. VBA experience would help
- Python/SQL experience would help
- Ability to convert numbers to meaningful data
- Strong analytical background with advanced modelling experience in regression, econometrics, time series, simulations and optimization.
- Good knowledge of credit scorecards, capital and impairment would be a plus.
