The Role & Responsibilities
The HR Operations Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing the day to day operational processes and procedures with the Service Delivery and wider HR teams. The position will oversee and enhance the delivery of all HR operational processes with a focus on driving operational excellence.
Key Role Responsibilities
Operational Management
- HR Process Management: Develop, implement, and optimize HR processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Employee Records: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of employee records, including personal information, employment history, and performance data.
- Ensure HR systems and workflows are efficient, user-friendly, and aligned with organisational goals
- Manage the governance processes of all HR policies to ensure the effectiveness of application taking into account the supporting procedures, employee and manager guides and communication of updates to all employees.
- Act as an escalation point for operational issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Work with the Data & Insights Analyst to manage the delivery of regular and ad hoc reporting, including metrics on headcount, turnover, payroll, and diversity, ensuring reports are accurate, timely, and tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, such as HR People Partners, Compliance, Risk, and IT, to ensure seamless service delivery and to resolve any technical issues impacting administrative processes across the function.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the AskHR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
- Encourage collaboration and innovation to enhance HR operational capabilities and seek process improvements across the wider HR team to ensure foster a culture of collaboration, effectiveness and high performance.
Support to HR Operations Manager
- Payroll Oversight – Oversight of the in-house Payroll Manager to ensure seamless payroll operations and compliance with HMRC regulations
- Visa Sponsorship Management – Oversight of the visa sponsorship process, ensuring compliance with UK Home Office regulations and organisational sponsorship obligations. Monitor and escalate visa expirations and renewals and associated documentation to ensure compliance.
- Risk and Resilience Management – Familiarise yourself with HR operational, data and third party risk processes, ensuring alignment with the Bank risk appetite framework. Ensure appropriate procedures and critical services are fit for purpose.
- Audit & Regulatory Reviews – support the HR Operations Manager with providing accurate documentation to support internal and external audit requirements.
- Data Subject Access Requests – Support the team with the provision of data governed by the ICO. Establish an appropriate and robust management process for data subject access requests.
- Oversight of all SMCR related activity
The Person
- Proven experience in HR operations management within the UK financial services sector.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team
- Ability to think strategically and implement HR initiatives that align with organisational goals.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, data management and change programmes.
- Knowledge of payroll management, visa sponsorship and operational risk processes.
- Experience of working in a fast paced environment which requires adaptability to support changing priorities and multi-tasking
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality in all HR matters
- Experience of working with Core HR systems and workflow management tools such as HALO
