The Role & Responsibilities

The Consumer franchise (savings & consumer lending) is a fast-growing part of Shawbrook, and marketing plays an essential part of growing Direct channels.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Creation

  • Create & maintain content strategy, and various types of content across different formats utilising key audience insights and trends to support engagement with our customers, colleagues and partners.  This includes management of content which is created in full or in part by internal stakeholders / agencies.
  • Review and implement content from key stakeholders and marketing agencies including obtaining the required approvals and ensuring correct tone of voice and brand guidelines are met.
  • Work with key stakeholders across the business to ensure content is accurate and relevant to our audience and our brand
  • Support content publishing on the Website CMS.
  • Support the direct distribution of the Business Finance & Property Finance Franchises, where applicable.

Marketing Campaigns

  • Develop, execute and manage marketing campaigns from inception to delivery.
  • Drive & execute the creative process across advertising (including programmatic display), and PR to differentiate the Consumer franchises products and services
  • Manage the development & creation of Consumer franchise content for the website and social channels, and work with digital marketing colleagues to drive social reach & engagement, optimise Digital PR, increase SEO, and optimise conversion.
  • Execute all campaign related email activity through Dotdigital or other email marketing tools and provide reporting & insights post campaign
  • Support the internal communications team where necessary to deliver internal communications on Consumer franchise marketing campaigns
  • Manage all internal sign off processes for marketing campaigns including compliance approval and record keeping
  • Manage reporting for Consumer franchise campaigns. This will require you to work closely with the relevant teams within group marketing and our agencies to analyse reporting for key insights to enhance and increase the performance of our activities

Risk Management / Controls and Compliance

  • Communicate and escalate potential issues/risks in a prompt and effective manner
  • Manage the internal sign off process to ensure all marketing materials are compliant with FCA regulation


  • Day to day management of the consumer marketing budget tracker
  • Processing of incoming supplier invoices

People / Teamwork

  • Work closely with colleagues across the wider business to understand the strategy and plans for the Consumer franchise and translate this into campaigns that deliver impactful results for the business
  • Project/campaign management, liaising with external agency partners and suppliers to ensure high quality delivery of projects on time and budget.
  • Close team-working with the other teams within Group Marketing to deliver the Consumer franchise’s marketing objectives
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams across the Group to deliver marketing campaign activity

The Person

  • Experience of content strategy & creation
  • Experience in PR and marketing campaigns
  • Strong marketing experience, with some exposure to financial services
  • Experience of content publishing on a Website Content Management System (CMS), e.g. Umbraco is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience of balancing multiple projects
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
