The Role & Responsibilities

The Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, review and submission of regulatory returns to the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Bank of England (BoE). The role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance through the production of COREP, FINREP and other prudential and statistical returns.

The role will support the ongoing enhancement of the regulatory reporting framework through automation, process improvement and data quality initiatives. Working closely with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Technology and other stakeholders across the Bank, the role will ensure reporting processes remain robust, efficient and aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and submit regulatory statistical and supervisory returns to the PRA, FCA, BoE and EBA, including COREP, FINREP and other prudential reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all regulatory returns are produced accurately and submitted within prescribed deadlines, with appropriate controls and reconciliations in place.
  • Perform detailed review and analysis of reported data to ensure compliance with regulatory definitions, reporting standards and internal governance requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess the impact of new PRA, FCA and BoE requirements on the Bank’s reporting obligations.
  • Support the implementation of new regulatory reporting requirements and assist with the automation of existing reporting processes.
  • Partner with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Data and Technology teams to improve data sourcing, data quality and reporting efficiencies.
  • Assist in the design and enhancement of reporting solutions and management information to support regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and update regulatory reporting policies, procedures and documentation to ensure a strong control environment.
  • Support Second line reviews / controls, internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and requests from supervisors relating to regulatory reporting submissions.
  • Contribute to Finance transformation initiatives, process improvements and system enhancements aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing operational risk.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on regulatory reporting matters to stakeholders across the Bank.
  • Support the production of other external reporting requirements as required.

The Person

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in regulatory reporting within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Good understanding of prudential regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements, including COREP, FINREP and statistical reporting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of PRA, FCA and BoE regulatory developments and policy requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using regulatory reporting systems and data extraction tools.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical reporting solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities to meet tight regulatory deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to process improvement, automation and enhancing control frameworks.
  • Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrates Shawbrook values through openness, transparency, accountability and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to use regulatory reporting software such as Suade, Regnology or similar.
