The Role

Shawbrook are looking for a Head of Product Management to join our team based in London. You will lead the digital product teams at Shawbrook. This exciting role provides an opportunity to develop, implement and promote a best practice digital product development culture across the team of product owners in Shawbrook.


Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Ownership of digital product management working across all lines of business, ensuring a consistent approach from everyone in the product organisation
  • Ensuring an ambitious yet achievable roadmap of all digital products across Shawbrook, to support the delivery of Shawbrook’s strategic objectives
  • Accountable for the defining and regularly updating success metrics, e.g. OKRs, for Shawbrook’s digital product portfolio, and for ensuring the successful performance of those products against the defined metrics
  • Developing relationships with stakeholders and key business areas of Shawbrook
  • Leadership, coaching and line management of the product teams at Shawbrook
  • Creating a vibrant product community across all sites
  • Supporting change and demystification of product development approach
  • Promoting and demonstrating results to enable stakeholder and business buy-in
  • Driving delivery of business and customer aligned products and associated outcomes
  • Define and support an approach to decision-making based on data and insights
  • Being a source of product management knowledge and expertise within Shawbrook
  • Developing excellent relationships with partners and promoting a ‘one connected bank’ mindset
  • Working with colleagues across the business to agree and refine product vision and strategy
  • Proposing and reviewing business cases for new digital product propositions and enhancements



  • Ability to quickly gain the confidence of the business and colleagues through good communication and influencing skills and acting as an advocate of the product management team both externally and internally
  • Ensure effective leadership and management of the team; maintaining a continuous learning environment, setting clear goals to ensure there is clarity on what needs to be achieved for any given project
  • Work with HR to develop upskilling/training opportunities to develop and maintain a high level of skills proficiency in the team
  • Offer a supportive coaching style, proactively encouraging personal and professional development and achievement in direct reports
  • Create an effective and motivational team environment, aligning behaviours, values and performance expectations across the team to deliver exceptional results,
  • Work with HR to specify, shortlist, interview and onboard new team members who can perform the job role, demonstrate the right skills and experience and grow the capability of the team
The Person

Suitable candidates will have the following experience:          

  • Experience in a senior product management role with a sound understanding of latest thinking in digital product management
  • Experience of leading a digital product or delivery function in a large, complex company
  • Evidence of successfully delivering digital products to achieve goals
  • Demonstrating commercial acumen and weighing cost/benefit in reasoning
  • Experienced in agile ways of working and experience as a practitioner who has ‘been there and done it’
  • Experience of product lifecycle management through discovery, growth, maturity and decline across a range of platforms and channels particularly web and mobile
  • Business Finance experience would be advantageous (not essential)

  • Owns and drives practical changes to improve user’s digital experience
