The Role & Responsibilities
Associate Relationship Director is responsible for ensuring that the financial Analysis of existing and future financial performance reviewing statutory and management accounting information.
This will include financial modelling, spreading and analysis of forecasts. Along with the covenant compliance monitoring and testing, quarterly Borrowing Reviews.
As part of the Relationship Management team, you will be part of the following:
- Meeting with customers.
- Dealing with customer queries.
- Managing and maintaining clients through CRM systems/platforms.
- Supporting Relationship Directors writing lending reports.
- Credit Risk analysis and risk Management.
In addition to this you will work with the Relationship Director managing the loan book on the portfolio and responsible for building effective and collaborative relationships with our customers, identifying future funding opportunities, whilst ensuring excellent customer service.
Working in conjunction with the Credit Partners, Business Development managers and Regional Head of Credit to build strong relationships internally to manage internal sectors and portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out post drawdown procedures to enable a smooth handover of the relationship from the Business Development and Transaction Management Teams.
- Interaction with Borrowers and the Transaction Management Team to obtain financial data and information required to monitor the loan portfolio.
- Ensure that management and financial information is received from borrowers on a timely basis.
- Review and input of financial information, calculation of financial covenants and performing quality assurance checks on financial information provided by Borrowers, including comparing actuals against budgets/forecasts, identifying cause of variances and their impact on liquidity and ongoing debt serviceability, and escalating material variances to Relationship Managers and Head of Relationship Management
- Preparing reports and proposals for credit and legal teams in relation to breaches and where waivers or consents are appropriate
- Review of customer projections during the lifecycle of the loan
- Maintain loan status data to provide and demonstrate continuing compliance of each Borrower on the Loan Portfolio
- Working collaboratively with the Business Development, Transactional and Legal Teams

- Can navigate, analyse, and understand P&L, BS and Cash Flows.
- Familiar with different accounting platforms (Sage, Xero etc).
- Understanding of Loan Documentation Covenant definitions and terminology.
- Ability to undertake financial modelling and sensitivity analysis.
- Well networked.
- An understanding of debt finance/asset finance and financial services experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Robust, organised, calm, logical and confident.
