The Role & Responsibilities

Join our dynamic Credit Risk Team as a crucial contributor, leveraging your expertise in data analytics to support proactive reviews, monitoring, and reporting on mortgage loan cohorts. As a dedicated member, you will play a key role in maintaining our credit risk appetite within our thriving lending operation.

Responsibilities include evaluating trends in loan pools conducting comprehensive portfolio reviews to identify risk developments or concentrations, utilising sound judgment to present decisions on heightened-risk positions to key stakeholders when necessary.

Support the enhancement of our credit risk monitoring capabilities by integrating automation, business intelligence (BI), and data analytical tools. Support our credit strategy and respond to ad-hoc data requests, providing accurate and robust data-backed insights.

Utilise sharp analytical skills to generate precise committee reports and support in-depth analyses of customer behaviours and market trends as the landscape evolves. Your role is pivotal in ensuring our credit risk strategy is not only effective but also adaptable to changing dynamics in the industry.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of credit risk management in portfolio analytics
  • Monitor credit risk analytics across Residential and Buy-to-Let (BTL) asset classes.
  • Provide analytical support for strategic changes, particularly focusing on back book horizon scanning.
  • Assist in conducting impact assessments of market changes, leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Support with opportunities to automate and streamline data analytical approaches, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in credit risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on various risk governance needs, fostering effective communication and cooperation.
  • Produce accurate, timely, and meaningful data-backed insights for monthly committee presentations, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for wider key stakeholders as needed, providing valuable insights into credit risk dynamics.

The Person

 

  • Proven work experience in the Risk/Analytics/Decision Science field, with a focus on developing and analysing Risk MI or a similar role.
  • Experience in programming languages such as SAS, SQL, VBA, and Python.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate and summarise analysis findings for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in data investigation and manipulation, demonstrating the ability to deliver accurate and meaningful analyses under tight deadlines across diverse sectors and teams.
  • A high tolerance for ambiguity and adaptability to frequently changing priorities.  A genuine can-do attitude to meet deadlines with a positive approach.
  • Good understanding of financial risk concepts preferable.
  • Highly numerate with a track record in data-driven analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
